So often we turn to pain killers, antacids, Pepto-Bismal or Miralax because our digestion is so chronically compromised. Whether we are talking about the stomach, the small intestines or the colon, we are talking about how our body is handling the food we eat.
This is because we have failed to understand the essence of “feeding”. We may eat, but that doesn’t mean we are feeding ourselves. All of us understand that a donut isn’t the healthiest option, but we aren’t eating it for its nutritional value. We are eating it because we feel we deserve a treat, because we are in a rush and need something in our stomach, because we are dealing with grief, because it’s too delicious to pass up!
